This paper investigates the software engineering (SE) technologies used to develop open-source health systems (OSHSs) through a systematic literature mapping. The mapping resulted in selecting 67 studies from searches in four digital libraries. The results indicated that the main SE technologies used are standards and models of health data representation and transmission. Furthermore, the results allowed us to obtain an overview of the development, availability, and applicability of OSHSs.
