Abstract

Objective: To identify the main strategies in information security related to the use of Health Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Primary Care, whether by the patient or the health professional. Method: The analysis was conducted through a literature review using a search string and inclusion and exclusion criteria previously defined and applied to articles published between 2018 and 2023. Results: After screening, ten articles were included in the review, making it possible to identify the main strategies for the safe use of Health ICTs: continuing education, assessments and system standardization, being applied by governments and by the multidisciplinary health team itself, in different countries. Conclusion: There is a global effort to ensure the good use of Health ICTs in Primary Care and among the challenges are digital literacy and access to adequate technological infrastructure for the use of these technologies and ensuring continued education.
