Objective: This review seeks to describe and evaluate health tools, looking for their positive, negative points, practicality, feasibility and effectiveness to increase adherence to medication therapy for hypertension. Method: We used medication adherence descriptors, software and high blood pressure on the PubMed and VHL platforms, finding 36 results. After applying filters for controlled and randomized studies published in the last 5 years and with free full text, we included 5 articles. Results: Results varied regarding the impact of software on adherence, indicating that improvements can be achieved with additional resources, such as motivational messages and integration into clinical care. Conclusion: The use of software can increase treatment adherence.
