The study focused on developing and evaluating the mobile app, designed to support the treatment of patients on mechanical ventilation using contextualized instructional design. The objective was to address the need to reduce healthcare-related harm and the incidence of pneumonia, commonly associated with mechanical ventilation in intensive care units. The methodology included the creation of the app and its usability evaluation through the System Usability Scale questionnaire, translated into Portuguese, administered to six nurses and four nursing faculty members. The results showed good acceptance of the application, with an average usability score of 88.2 (±10.7), and a median of 88.7 rating it as "Best Imaginable". It is concluded that the application is efficient and satisfactory, serving as a tool that can enhance the quality and safety of care, and also contribute to the training of future nurses.
