Abstract

To apply the Design Thinking Empathy Map to reveal the perceptions, needs, desires, frustrations and expectations of patients and companions in relation to the experience of hospital fall, aiming the co-production of digital technologies proposed by the Fall TIPS Brazil Program. It is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research. Semi-structured individual telephone interviews were carried out with 14 patients and 6 companions who experienced hospital falls between 2017 and 2019 in a teaching hospital in southern Brazil. Data were recorded, transcribed, submitted to discourse analysis and organized according to the Empathy Map structure. The application of the Empathy Map contributed to the process of understanding the participants' perceptions and interests, a key step in adapting the Fall TIPS program to the Brazilian reality, in a participatory and co-production perspective of technologies aimed at preventing hospital falls.
