Digital health in Dental Specialty Centers: spatial analysis

Objective: To spatially analyze the availability of technological resources in Dental Specialty Centers in Brazil. Method: an observational, descriptive, evaluative study that comparatively analyzed the availability of the following categories: basic equipment (computer and stabilizer); services (internet in the office, electronic medical record and telehealth); and accessory equipment (printer, camera, speaker, microphone and television) in the two evaluation cycles of the Program to Improve Access and Quality of Dental Specialty Centers (2014 and 2018). Spatial aggregation was done by health region and descriptive analysis using Stata® software (version 14.0). Results: There was a positive increase in resources for most of the Federative Units, with the exception of microphone. However, the spatial distribution was uneven, with the North and Northeast suffering the most. Conclusion: equitable investment is necessary to guarantee these resources, especially for services, to strengthen the digital health strategy in secondary oral health care.
