Identification and categorization of risks in telehealth services: a systematic literature review

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to identify the risks involving telehealth care. Method: Through the methodological procedure of systematic literature review (RSL), the aim is to identify and classify risk occurrences into categories and subcategories, analyzed based on their similarities, differences, frequency of occurrence and current positioning of current literature on the classification of these types of risks. Results: 68 articles were selected and 423 risks were identified, distributed across six categories and 33 risk subcategories. The categories with the highest occurrence of risks were "Human", "Technological", followed by "Operational" risks. The most frequent risk subcategories were Digital Literacy (Human Category) and Privacy (Security Category). Conclusion: The results help managers of telehealth services to identify and mitigate possible risks of the service.
