Abstract

The digital transformation in health requires professionals trained in technologies artificial intelligence (AI), data, and telehealth. It is crucial to distinguish between health informatics, which focuses on data management and standardization, and digital health, which applies technologies in clinical practice, including the use of technologies and the promotion of health. The study maps out the competencies required at advanced levels of training, highlighting digital literacy as the foundation for skills predictive algorithm development and data governance. Since 2000, significant technological advances have been observed, although challenges the slow implementation of standards and resistance to adopting new technologies persist. The study proposes an educational framework to prepare professionals to lead the digital transformation in health, emphasizing the need for public policies and educational strategies. It is acknowledged that research is needed to validate the proposed competencies and to evaluate the direct impact of these technologies on patient care and health management.
