Digital Health Education: formative challenges based on the qualified listening of professionals and educators

Integrating Digital Health into professional training and continuing education is strategic for improving care quality, yet implementation faces obstacles. Objective: To analyze the challenges faced by managers and workers, faculty and researchers in integrating Digital Health into management, care, teaching, and research practices. Methods: The study was conducted during a national qualified listening event involving webinars (with 654 participants) and online dialogues (with 612 registered participants). Analyses were carried out through an integrated qualitative and quantitative approach. Results: Critical challenges included constrained infrastructure, low interoperability, managerial resistance, and insufficient digital literacy. A pronounced gap was noted between the rhetoric of digital innovation and the operational realities within health services, a gap intensified by the growing burden associated with the volume and management of digital data. Discussions emphasized the need for analytically grounded training, collaborative governance, and ethical technology deployment, informing strategic recommendations. Conclusion: Consolidating Digital Health requires, beyond adopting digital solutions, the construction of an institutional culture guided by ongoing critical training, qualified governance, and intersectoral public policies.
